Potentially N Realistically

Some jokes really give you a kick and you can’t stop laughing. After a long time I heard one. Here it goes…

A young boy went up to his father and asked him, ‘Dad, what is the difference between ‘potentially’ and ‘realistically’?’
The father thought for a moment, then answered, ‘Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars.

Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt f or a million dollars, and then ask your brother if he’d sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Come back and tell me what you learn from that.’

So the boy went to his mother and asked, ‘Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?’

The mother replied, ‘Of course I would! We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids to a great University!’

The boy then went to his sister and asked, ‘Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?’

The girl replied, ‘Oh my Gawd! I LOVE Brad Pitt I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts?’

The boy then went to his brother and asked, ‘Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?’

‘Of course,’ the brother replied. ‘Do you know what a million bucks would buy?’

The boy pondered the answers for a few days and then went back to his dad.

His father asked him, ‘Did you find out the difference between ‘potentially’ and ‘realistically’?’

The boy replied, ‘Yes, ‘Potentially‘, you and I are sitting on three million dollars.

But ‘Realistically‘, we’re living with two hookers and a homo.

The “Rail” Ahead

Lalu Yadav is by far the most popular politician in India. The man who turn around Indian Railways is suffering from Insomnia for the past few days (literally). He last lost most seats that would have secured the Railway Ministry for him. However, he has not given up his hopes as yet.

I am not sure what MMS, Sonia, and Rahul have in mind but, I’ll sure like to see Mr. Lalu some where in the cabinet.

Are you listening?

The fading magic of Dada

I’ve a tremendous respect for Saurav Ganguly. He is probably the only Indian Cricketer who had the guts to stand tall when everything else was failing. A true leader, who took up bit and pieces of a pathetic Indian Cricket team, tied them together to create a force which went on to win many Test Matches, One Day Tournaments, and reach the finals of the world cup.  He was written off, he came back strong and later retired at the right time – at the top.

Last evening I felt sad for this legend who was struggling to play the ball. Maybe he has not enough left for 20-20 or maybe I am wrong. Next year, if he plays I hope it is the later.

IMS.edu

This is a website which I did long time ago for my college. It is still active at ims.edu Used w3c compliant HTML/ frames/ and simple PHP scripts. Nothing great about it but the fact that I did it in 8 hours flat.

My Bird Model

I took these pictures when I was at San Francisco. This nice little birdy was kind enough to come back again and again and pose for me. Not the best pics that I’ve taken but sure enjoyed taking them.

Missing some friends

Sometimes it really strikes you how much you miss your friends whom you’ve not spoken to in a while and they have not been an active part of your life.

Damn, after sitting home for 5 straight days I started thinking when I had the most fun time at Hyderabad. Without a blink I was sure that it was with Rubeen, Priya, and Zubin. Damn, we hung out for way to long :P It was fun when we all were here.

Kushagra, Rubeen, Priya, and Zubs

Rubeen, Kushagra, Priya, and Zubs - Killer time we had singing and dancing :P

Time for a reunion is it? I think yes.

i Proud to be Indian

I’ve a soft cushion job and other than writing about society, politics, and the events that impact the world around me. I rarely do anything constructive about it. All in all I am living life of a shameless average Indian guy who cares about the society, his country, but does absolutely nothing about it. He is too lost in his daily chores and his comfortable life and cosy corner cubicle (I don’t have a office.)

The country was bombed about a dozen times last year. I am talking about the dozen which made news. I don’t care and media doesn’t takes notice if 1000 other people died in small blasts. After the Bangalore, Ahmadabad, and Delhi blasts it was 26/11 blasts at Mumbai that helped the nation to get together for a couple of days. Only, a couple of days.

The question is: Has anything changed after that? Am I more patriot? Am I doing enough for the country to make it more socially responsible. The answer is NO.

This is my personal story. But it is the same story with 100 thousands of us. In fact, 10s of my friends are discussing or have gone for jobs overseas to more “stable” countries and “self dependent” economies in Europe. Is their anything wrong in doing this?

NO I guess. If you’ve ChankyaNiti one of the best text on politics this act is justified.

Chankya says:

for my non “shudh” Hindi speaking friends this roughly means that It is better to leave a country where the rulers cannot defend its citizen, where citizen doesn’t care about society, where people like in fear then live there.

Am I offending tons of you. Well, that doesn’t bother me. For all I know, if you’ll ask your self centered, easy going mind you’ll also agree.

How does it change.

Like Sid says in RDB: कोई भी देश perfect नही होता उसे perect बनाना पड़ता है . Something needs to be done. I really think and dream that it should be me. But shameless that I am, I keep thinking.

With all the religous organizations disrupting peace of the country and terrorist or freedom fighters like they call themselves to top it all the future of this country can can go either ways.

On one hand I see me and friends who are minting money and are using their tiny brains to earn more next year, and on the other hand I see people who barely live. They actually survive!

So how will be make it big – God knows :P

For what I feel, the growth of this nation is like me driving in Indian traffic. It is chaotic. But, I am confident that I’ll get to my destination.

India Shining

We do rock :P
